It was in September 2019 that Family Support Worker, Ibsen,  started supporting Tim who shares an Identitywa home with two others.

Initially, Ibsen worked with staff at the house to develop a list of activities they thought Tim would enjoy.  The experiences that make Tim most happy definitely feature being outside surrounded by nature.

“Tim grew up on a farm which his mum, Marie, said he loved,” said Ibsen.  “We therefore decided to look for activities which involved animals.

“After researching various options, we found the Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm offered volunteer placements.

“Tim working there once a week has been a great success.  He really enjoys helping out with feeding the animals and doing general jobs around the farm.

Marie is very pleased that Tim is doing something he enjoys.

“He worked in the gardens at Murdoch University for over five years,” explains Marie.

“He just loves being outdoors so this volunteer job is perfect for him!”
