Celebrating the 25th International Day of People with Disability
As an organisation dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people with disability and their families, we are delighted to be joining people around the world, and in Australia, on Sunday 3 December to celebrate the 25th International Day of People with Disability. It is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the valuable contributions, skills, and achievements of people with disability.
In response to this special day, the Most Rev Timothy Costelloe SDB, Archbishop of Perth, has written a Pastoral Letter which promotes an understanding of the issues experienced by people with disability and their families and acknowledges the Archdiocesan agencies who provide support throughout the Perth metropolitan area. I encourage you to take time to read his letter.
We are also pleased to share the story of the Constanzo family which features in the latest edition of the eRecord. Read how our support since 1989 has been life-changing for their family, in particular, their daughter, Melissa, who lives in one of our shared houses. Click here to read.
This year’s theme is “Transformation towards a sustainable and resilient society for all”. I encourage all to consider this important goal!
