Dillon loves his short stays with Identitywa
Spending time at our Children’s House is something six-year-old Dillon looks forward to each week.
He has been having weekly short stays regularly since he was two. His family is very happy that he is comfortable with his overnight stays and they feel confident that he is well cared for.
“To begin with he struggled a little with the separation from us,” said mum, Chloe.
“We understood this as a natural reaction; however, we stuck to it, and over a relatively short period of time, it became easier to leave him, and he now looks forward to his stays and interacting with the other children.
Community Manager, Wendy Spicer, says it has been wonderful to see how Dillon has changed over the past four years.
“Dillon had various developmental delays and medical complications,” said Wendy.
“He has made real progress which is fantastic for him and his family.”
“It has been very rewarding to be involved in some of the improvements to his development.”
