Establishment of Reference Group an exciting outcome of annual survey
“There is always room for improvement, so we will continue to look for ways to improve our services and supports, maintaining our reputation as one of WA’s leading disability service providers.” Identitywa CEO, Marina Re
The release of the results of Identitywa’s 2017 Family and Carers survey indicated an overwhelmingly positive response to support and services provided by Identitywa.
Whilst being very pleased with the results, CEO Marina Re, said the survey provided valuable feedback which gave Identitywa a benchmark for future surveys.
“Survey questions covered the areas of communication, provision of support, consultation, complaints process, and overall satisfaction of the support their family member receives from Identitywa,” explains Marina.
“One key outcome from the survey was the development of a reference group to engage with, and work alongside, individuals, families, and guardians to continually improve practice and processes.”
Convenor Jacqueline Daisley is confident that direct feedback plus group discussion will be a powerful driver of service improvement initiatives within Identitywa.
“I’m thrilled that we now have the opportunity to meet with and consult regularly with individuals receiving our support and their families,” she said.
The new group includes individuals accessing support, family members and staff.
Chris, who shares an Identitywa house with four others, said he is feeling very excited about being involved.
Joan and Di, who have family living in shared living, both put up their hands to be part of the new initiative and agreed the concept and creation of a reference group was an excellent way to facilitate communication and feedback. “Good idea,” said Di.
“Always happy to provide feedback!”
