Expansion of WA NDIS offers new and exciting opportunities
The recent expansion of the WA NDIS into the suburbs of Armadale, Murray and Serpentine-Jarrahdale is providing new opportunities for individuals with disability and their families living in these suburbs.
The expansion, which was rolled out on 1 October, will further enable Identitywa staff to provide individualised services that truly cater to the uniqueness of each person living with a disability and their family.
Project Officer, Alyesha Chopra explains: “I am really excited about the prospect of working alongside families as they step into the WA NDIS and begin their journey of accessing supports that are meaningful to them – whether it is moving out of home, going hiking or participating in their first swimming lesson.
“It is very rewarding to support families in their decisions and introduce the variety of high quality services we provide.”
For Bejay and his family who live in Seville Grove in the City of Armadale, the opportunity to have additional support benefits not only him but the whole family.
Bejay currently accesses support once a week after school which he looks forward to all week.
“One of his favourite things to do is going to the park with his support worker, Vanessa,” says his mum, Julie.
“Whilst he is off being independent, I have a chance to spend quality time with his sisters which is so important to all of us.
“We are keen to explore all the possibilities which are now available to us through the WA NDIS.”
