‘High Tea’ in Celebration of Carers
In celebration of Carers Week, Identitywa took the opportunity to organise a ‘high tea’ to acknowledge the wonderful work that carers do.
The 20 carers who attended were pampered with fresh pastries and brightly coloured macaroons, complementing a menu of uniquely flavoured teas, all served by Identitywa staff. It was a chance for guests to sit back, relax and share time with other carers.
The theme was based on a bygone era with fine bone china, tiered cake stands and crisp white table cloths, and music from the Sinatra-era playing in the background.
One of our guests, Tom said, “I would usually be at golf on the 14th hole by now, but I’m glad I came.” Another guest, Aisha agreed saying the high tea was “Beautiful. I felt so welcome.”
Board Chair, Graeme Mander was also present. “I attended last year’s high tea and was absolutely delighted when I saw the concept. We don’t have enough of this in our modern society,” he said.Several raffle winners – Brian, Anne, Mary, Alice, Aisha and Jamila – left with prizes based on the high tea theme.
Other guests didn’t leave empty handed with long-stemmed gerberas, Carers WA goody bags, movie passes from Buzz Marketing, sunscreen packs from Concept Laboratory and drinks from Red Bull.
The event was made possible with the support of Carers WA and a Lotterywest grant. The South Perth Bowling Club also generously donated the Como Bowling Club venue.
