Identitywa families and staff gather for Plenary Session discussion
Identitywa hosted a special gathering for family members of the people we support and staff which focused on the future of the Catholic Church in Australia.
Mr Tony Giglia from the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth led the discussion which is just one of many taking place across Australia as part of the Plenary Council 2020.
In his welcome, Tony explained that feedback has been actively sought from people living across Australia.
“Over the past eight months, more than 40,000 people have generously shared their stories and experiences of life, faith and the Church with the Plenary Council,” said Tony.
“Those stories will help shape this historic process by forming the agenda for the Plenary Council sessions in 2020 and 2021.”
Participants were invited to reflect on ‘What do you think God is asking of us in Australia at this time?
Identitywa’s CEO, Marina Re, plans to forward a submission to the Plenary Council.
“This is an important opportunity for us to be included in the discussion on the future of the Church in Australia,” said Marina.
“Our community is extremely diverse and therefore well placed to put forward a range of topics for consideration.”
