Identitywa welcomes new Board members
2019 has seen a change in Identitywa’s Board of Management with the retirement of a long-serving member, Levy Mpofu, and the appointment of two new members, Nicole Barnao and John Fitzgerald.
“We were delighted that Nicole and John accepted our invitation to join our Board,” said Chief Executive Officer, Marina Re.
“It is an exciting time for all those working in the disability sector. We have seen major changes with the introduction of the NDIS and believe that Nicole and John will both contribute significantly as we continue to grow our services and supports for people with disability and their families living in Western Australia.”
Ms Barnao has held various roles in the community sector. She works in the property sector as an advisor and project manager, and has over 20 years of professional experience working in property, financial and consulting services; for listed, private and not-for-profit businesses. She has spent much of her working life leading cross-functional teams to innovate, drive change and deliver on projects, during both strong and challenging phases of the economic cycle.
Mr Fitzgerald is currently working as an independent consultant with over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical research and community service sectors. He was formerly the Chief Executive of Catholic Homes and Chief Operating Officer of the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. John also held the position of Australasian Marketing Director for a multinational pharmaceutical company, as well as senior management roles in the local biotechnology industry.
Identitywa is one of WA’s leading agencies supporting people with disability to live the life they choose. With a strong commitment to Person Centred Active Support, staff work in partnership with individuals to explore, plan and design support options to suit their individual needs.
