Identitywa’s Christmas Mass on 7 December capped off a week of celebrations around WA for Disability Awareness Week.

Over 230 people attended the Mass lead by Auxiliary Bishop Sproxton at St Lawrence and Mary Immaculate Parish in Balcatta. Steven Dybal and Danny Wilkie assisted Bishop Sproxton as altar servers. Readers included Geraldine McShane and Harry Young and Simon Garces who punched the air in pleasure at completing his reading.

The Mass ended on a lively note with carol singing that got everyone into the mood for the after-party.

The sunny day was perfect for lunch outdoors under the marquee. Guests headed indoors to the dance floor where the DJ turned out classics like Dancing Queen and Grease Lightening. The music was a huge hit, inspiring much laughter and a bit of break dancing.

Identitywa CEO, Marina Re said “It was a real celebration from the Mass to lunch to the dancing! Many families I spoke to said how much they enjoyed coming together for such a special event.”
