We’re two weeks away from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) being a reality in WA, with a two-year trial starting on 1 July for eligible people living in the Perth Hills.
In preparation, we’ve contacted people who receive support from Identitywa who live in the trial site areas of Swan, Kalamunda and Mundaring local governments . This is to ensure they have the information they need to support their participation in the NDIS.
Identitywa CEO, Marina Re said, “When it comes time for people to discuss their support arrangements with the NDIS Planning and Support Coordinators, they will need information about the types of support they currently receive and the cost of these supports.”
Carers assisting people to participate in the NDIS will also have input into decisions about the person’s ongoing support needs, goal setting and planning processes.
Ms Re added, “We want to ensure these people have easy access to the information they need to help guide these discussions.”
If you have queries about the NDIS or your support arrangements with Identitywa, please contact Family Liaison Officer, Sally van Essen on 9474 3303 or firstname.lastname@example.org
