New Identitywa office to improve support to people with disability living in northern suburbs
Identitywa, one of Western Australia’s leading agencies supporting people with disability and their families, hosted the official opening of Identitywa: North in Balcatta on Thursday 8 June, 2017.
“Identitywa: North means that our staff are located in the community where the people we support live.
This provides an accessible point of contact for families and the individuals living in the northern corridor,” said CEO, Marina Re.
Board members and staff joined service users supported by Identitywa for the event which included an office blessing by the Most Reverend Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton DD VC and Welcome to Country by Nyungar Elder, Betty Garlett.
Identitywa has a range of services located in the northern suburds including nine shared houses and comprehensive family support services for children and adults.
“It is critical that we are present in the communities we are working in and we are committed to increasing our outreach,” said Ms Re.
“We now have three offices located south, north and in Northbridge which offer greater flexibility and responsiveness in assisting people who are seeking our support.”
Identitywa offers support for: In and Out of Home, School Leavers, Supported Living, Having a Break and Community Connections.
