Over eight months of dedication produces John’s ‘amazing’ cookbook!
When John was asked how he feels about his new cookbook, he said with a big smile, “AMAZING!”
So was the commitment he had to the project, and also of the support staff, who cooked with him almost every Monday night for over eight months.
After testing the recipes every week, John chose his top 10 favourite recipes which included his all-time favourite dish – apple crumble.
“It was very rewarding to see him so proud and happy achieving one of his goals,” said House Senior, Jenny.
“It was a significant project which involved sitting down with John to research recipes and to choose ones that he wanted to try. He would then type his recipes on the laptop with staff dictating letters to him – one by one.”
John also made all the decisions about the presentation of his book, choosing the formatting and photographs.
“He is even producing them himself, binding copies at home ready to sell,” said Jenny.
All in all, it has been a very positive experience for everyone involved. Cookbooks are now on sale for $10 each. They can be ordered by calling 9474 3303.
