Sweet success for Jo’s fundraiser
It was a win-win for everyone who went along to the recent fundraising afternoon tea hosted by Jo.
There were cupcakes, cupcakes and more cupcakes for the guests to enjoy for a gold coin donation, along with a hot cup of tea or coffee of course!
Jo signed up to fundraise for the RSPCA Cup Cake Day which raises money to fight animal cruelty. A number of the support staff at Jo’s Identitywa shared home are involved with the cause and knew of her love of animals.
With their support Jo registered for the event, designing her invitation to the afternoon tea, and spent serious time in the kitchen baking lots of delicious cupcakes.
Support worker, Rhona, said Jo had really loved all that was involved in her successful fundraising initiative.
“She was very committed,” said Rhona. “It was so great to see the results of her hard work and the support she received at the afternoon tea.”
All in all, it was a wonderful experience for everyone involved with a positive financial result for the RSPCA!
Identitywa is one of WA’s leading agencies supporting people with disability to live the life they choose. With a strong commitment to Person Centred Active Support, staff work in partnership with individuals to explore, plan and design support options to suit their individual needs.
